About Ilsa
Ilsa Bartlett is a fully practicing student of the common good.. As a fourteen-year-old she had an epiphany about the materialistic nature of ‘isms’ and started a life long investigation of truth. This begins with being opened to what other people are actually thinking about science, theology and their individual belief in ‘faith’ or lack of it. This started upon hearing the Buddha’s name. He went on a journey to wake up to this life and make a path for others to follow.
Ilsa started a life-long study of the middle way. Since 1989 Ilsa has been a student of the Mahayana practice as a student of the Venerable Losang Samten. In 1984 Ilsa made a brief study of Tanka painting with Pema Wangal of Dolpa. In 1985 he took her by the hand and introduced her to the monk doctor, Ven. Lobsang Rampgay who held up a clear mirror to the ’self’.
In 1986 she began a journey of healing and study with Dr. Rampgay. Under his able direction she touched on everything from cooking for healing to urine analysis, including extensive relaxation practices.
She has studied at the Tibetan Buddhist Learning Center in Washington, NJ with Gesha Tupten Gatso and other teachers in residence including Josh and Diane Cuttler, HHDL who confered the Kalacharaka Empowerment; Ghesha Mulum began the Rainbow Body Practice; John Burzoskey, Robert Thurman and Glen Mullen. The Ven. Khensur Rinpoche, tutor to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, taught her the giving and taking practice. Lati Rinpoche, Of Guyto Monastery, from whom she received empowerments and practice for Vajarayogini and Charakasamvara. She is investigating NR and HR guided by the Mother of the World which offer a path of continuation building on the trans Himalaya path toward self-knowledge.
Other instruction has been provided over the years by Tartung Tulku in Berkeley CA; Jetsuma in Poolesville MD; The Kenpo Chemee of Katmandu, Nepal. Dr. Paul Scharff and Bud Stone of the Anthroposophical Society; His Holiness The Tenzen Sakya, supreme head of the Saykapa Lineage and Sakyapa School of Tibetan Buddhism; Gheshia Gelsem from Long Beach Ca.; Losang Chopel of Canada; Gashr Lobsang Donyo and Phuntske of Ganden Shartse Monastery, India; Trichang Rinpoche,Jr. Teacher to HHDL; the Group at the Agni Yoga Societyy of New York City.

For a number of years I was a frequent visitor at the Tibetan Buddhist Learning Center Washington NJ Then at the tender age of 80 gave up driving. I spent many happy hours at the TBLC. One can be blind and deaf and still recieve large benefits from the eminations of this place. Give my best to Diane and Joshua.

Ilse,
Thoroughly enjoyed the Berkeley Symphony thing with you. We were blessed with the opportunity to chat with those composers, and I chatted with a few BSO players.
Enjoyed your website, especially your blog with the story about the social worker that helped out that teen that mugged him.
But I am curious about the title of your institute. What system are you rewiring? How are you rewiring it? And why?
