Three Big Space Missions This Week

Mother Earth  is getting the Mothers Day/Week  gift of space jewels to spin around her cosmic neck.  This turns me on.  I think how fortunate I am to live in a time when gravittational  waves, though invisable to the Naked Eye, are understood for the action they have on form and function.  I adore looking up!
We’re coming up to the biggest week in space exploration that we’ve had in a long time:  On Monday the Shuttle will launch its long delayed Hubble repair mission; if successful Hubble will have new capabilities far beyond what it ever had before.
On Thursday the same rocket in French Guiana will launce both the Herschel and Planck satellites to the L2 Lagrange point. The two satellites are quite different but equally important.  Herschel will probe the largely unexplored far infrared part of the spectrum with the largest mirror ever put into space.
Plank will study the cosmic microwave background radiation with far greater precision than ever achieved before including measuring for the first time its polarization. If we’re lucky it might even find Gravitational Waves.
These space toys  are Lockeed Rocket Products.  Long lasting Lockeed quality in rocketry.
Each one of us has a part to play in the forward movement of  life and the beings on this planet earth. Some are rocket designers and some just enjoy the devine display.
Imagine living with out so many lovely little life supporting items which have become vital to our accomplishments and sense of safety? There would be  No cell phones without quantum mechanics and other far out though basic research and development. …
Though I have had a cell phone for just over five years it is indespencable tool for scheduling and communication that I did not imagine before I gave up the Luddite path.
These rockets  launched in space this week, hold the promise of yet another unimaginable next generation of everyday living trinket and toy, which  will incorporate the forces of nature with the secondary aspect to function as a continuing expansion of delight.
